14.4.1 Installer does not work on macbook6,1

I updated my macbook6,1 from 14.3.1 to 14.4 via the software update.

It worked except that the login window keeps crashing.

I decided to create a 14.4.1 usb installer, for macbook6,1 to see if the problem would go away.

I then startup with 'option', select 'efi boot' and then 'install sonoma'.

This results in a screen alternating between two images.

One is the schematic underside of a magic mouse, the second a schematic picture of another device.

Unfortunately the images don't stick with this post.

Any help or suggestion is appreciated.
