 | Hey everyone! Exciting news - I successfully completed my first hackintosh build yesterday. It took quite a few hours, especially with my specific components, but I've managed to achieve stability and full functionality, except for Wi-Fi/Bluetooth at the moment. I've got a PCI card on the way that's Mac-compatible, so that should resolve the wireless issues. For those interested, here are the specs of my setup:
Backstory: Recently, I had built a new PC from scratch specifically for windows gaming, however last week I sold my high end components (cpu/gpu) for financial reasons. Instead of letting my new tower stay empty, I had a spare PC that I parted out and transferred into my main rig. Since I had a fresh start and I'm a fan of Apple, I decided to look into how to build one. The process definitely requires intermediate knowledge if you're unfamiliar with components and file editing. However, it's worth it once it's all said and done! The biggest win for me is that I've never gotten to own a high-end apple pc, all my apple rigs growing up were 5 years behind minimum. I even still own a 2014 macbook air (which helped make this hackintosh) and so I'm used to slow / limited experiences when it comes to creating content, music or video editing. This is definitely a GAME CHANGER for performance as this is the most powerful interface of apple I think I've ever used personally lol If anyone wants details on creating a custom ROM for the AMD card, feel free to reach out to me.
