I set up my working Hackintosh about 6 years ago, I barely got it working and it was demoralizing and very frustrating using Clover. I've skimmed the Dortania guide but haven't read it to the letter but am hoping to use OpenCore now.

According to the Dortania guide, my limitation here is my cpu internal graphics Intel HD 530, capping me at upgrading to Monterey 12.6.x, however this sub labels Intel HD P530 as usable up to current OS if I'm understanding. Not sure if the P530 is majorly different from the regular 530. I also understand I may need to use ethernet as Atheros cards are not supported past High Sierra.

I plan on using Dortania's Clover to OpenCore migration guide.

A few questions:

  1. Any red flags or things I didn't consider?

  2. Hoping to upgrade without overwriting or wiping any data as I have many audio plugins that require authentication on reinstall, which would be inconvenient. Will my planned method avoid this?

  3. I've heard OpenCore is much more convenient, is it really worth it to migrate from Clover to OpenCore in my case if I won't be able to upgrade much more with current specs?
