I attempted to install Hackintosh back in 2017 multiple times, but I was never successful. A couple of weeks ago, I embarked on the journey again, this time with OpenCore and somewhat compatible hardware. Today, I finally achieved a working machine that I can use for my work. I am overjoyed and wanted to share this moment with you!
I extend my gratitude to everyone contributing to OpenCore, the Dortania guide, and every developer creating kexts and drivers. Your efforts make building a Hackintosh possible!
A few notes:
- I don't use the Apple ecosystem, so I'm unsure if features like Airdrop, iMessage, or FaceTime work. However, I've noticed that iMessage occasionally logs me out.
- Despite having the RestrictEvents kext, my CPU name isn't displayed. However, it's working fine, so I haven't prioritized fixing it.
- I use kexts like SMCRadeonGPU, SMCAMDProcessor, RadeonSensor, and AMDRyzenCPUPowerManagement for AMD CPU and GPU monitoring. If you know of a specific app or method for monitoring the CPU and GPU, please let me know.
- I initially booted using WhateverGreen.kext but later replaced it with Nootrx.kext because my GPU was shown as having 7MB VRAM. With Nootrx.kext, it worked perfectly.
Specs:
- CPU: Ryzen 5 2600
- GPU: RX 6650 XT
- RAM: 32GB DDR4 3200MHz
- Motherboard: Asus Prime B450M-K
- SSD: HyperX Fury 480GB
Here is my EFI boot folder

Please notice that I have changed the UUID, SystemSerialNumber, MLB, and ROM since they should be generated and are specific to my build (You probably know this already, but still...)
