Ventura on Surface Pro 7 stuck at 'choose a region'

Hello there!

I am trying my best to install macOS Ventura on a Surface Pro 7. I am following the tutorial from Geek's Table using a bootable flash-drive with Ventura on it that a friend set up for me. Now everything during the installation seems to be working correctly but once I come to the setup-stage, the assistant crashes when I choose a location - I click continue and am presented with a grey screen and the spinning color-wheel. I tried different locations, different EFI-configurations (namely badstorm and balopez83). Still stuck at the setup.
What I'm not entirely sure of, do I need to reinstall the OS every time I try to fidget with the EFI? Or is it that once the OS is installed and I'm at the setup, that it's only got to do with the EFI/.kext-configuration? Like do the .kext-files get installed in some form or are they really just injected by the boot-loader?

I would be very grateful if any of you could lead me in the right direction, because furiously changing EFIs and installing the OS anew doesn't seem to solve my problem.

I thank you very much!
RJ
