Upgrade dilemma : High Sierra to Monterey on Macbookpro 8,1 2011

Hello everyone,

I own a 2011 Mac Book Pro 8,1 and I'm currently running High Sierra. While browsing the OpenCore Legacy website, I noticed the "Non-Metal GPU (macOS 11+)" indication on the screen. However, when I clicked on it, I found myself in a conversation where the decisions aren't very clear to me, especially regarding the Sandy Bridge CPU family and HD 3000, which normally correspond to 10.13.6.

In the Support tab of the website, there are mentions of Sonoma, Ventura, and Monterey, but I didn't see compatibility with my Mac.

I searched to see if my Mac could run an OS other than High Sierra, but I didn't find clear answers. I tried Sonoma, but I couldn't build on the SSD, so I could only boot with the USB drive. It seemed okay but not great. Now, I'm considering installing Monterey. Before doing that, I'll clone the SSD just in case. Do you have any advice or recommendations? Or would it be better for me to stick with High Sierra? Thank you very much.

Previously, I posted without really knowing what I was talking about. I deleted it afterward, but I've since read the OpenCore website and watched YouTube videos. I would like to hear your opinions, as they would be more helpful to me. Especially since I've seen that some people with the same Mac as mine have successfully installed Monterey.
