After some years using Catalina or Big Sur on my old laptop, I decided to install the latest version of macOS on it... and everything went well! Specs: CPU: Intel Core i3 3217U GPU: HD 4000 RAM: 4Gb DDR3 1333MHz Laptop: Digibras(CCE, a brazilian brand), model unknown Audio: Does not work physically Ethernet: RTL8111 Wifi/BT - Intel 7260 Just followed Dortania's guide except SMBIOS (I put the latest MacBook Air) What does work: Everything I tested (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Touchpad, Keyboard, Internal Camera, USBs, AirPlay) This laptop has no speakers or jack connectors (Damaged) and also no battery The HD4000 required OpenCore Legacy Patcher after the installation and low-end Ivy-Bridge (such as i3-3217U) require HfsPlus-Legacy driver. The performance is a bit poor, since it has just 2 cores and the laptop is running with few memory and HDD, but it's usable (this post was completely written on the laptop). Basically this hackintosh made this machine usable again, since I was using Elementary OS before this install but the features were too limited comparing to Sonoma. And my advice to the people that want to build a hack with mid/old hardware: install an SSD before, or it will suck. [link] [comments] |
