Ryzen 7 5700G Hackintosh for programming (Ventura)

Iv'e always wanted to try hackintosh but even finding a good Mac-compatible PC is really expensive in my country, thanks to NootedRed i can now rock Ventura with full GPU acceleration on my Ryzen system.

PC Specs:

  • Board: Asus PRime A520M-A II
  • CPU: Ryzen 7 5700G (8-core, 16-thread)
  • GPU: Radeon Vega 8 Graphics, 2GB VRAM assigned in BIOS
  • Ram: 48GB DDR4 3200MHz
  • Ethernet card: Realtek, needed RLT8111 kext for it to work

What's working:

  • Apple ID, iCloud
  • Almost everything, GPU performance is like half of what it is in windows (Geekbench OpenCL benchmark) but it is totally usable, OS feels snappy and the iGPU has no problem running OpenGL applications after i applied a patch for OpenGL crashes (It's an ongoing issue with the NootedRed kext, temporary fix is using a kext that reports a lower OpenGL version to applications, thought it is not recommended by the devs themselves)
  • Adobe suite apps like Photoshop and Lightroom
  • Bluetooth (CSR 4.0 dongle)
  • Development tools like Visual Studio Code, Warp terminal, Node.js, Python runtimes, native TKinter support but it sometimes complains about the lower OpenGL version, All Chromium-based browsers

What's not working:

  • WiFi dongle TPLink Archer T3U (i know it's not compatible, i had it before doing hackintosh and never expected it to work)
  • Docker just refuses to work properly on AMD systems
  • Some photoshop features refuse to work
  • Random freezes here and there, nothing too bad
  • Compute-heavy tasks like parallel file transfers make the system very sluggish
  • And for reasons i'm yet to comprehend, sometimes it restarts up to 10 times before succesfully booting into macOS

I followed the Opencore Install Guide but didn't really manage to make it past the second installation step. So i used some EFI folder i found for the Ryzen 5700G and adapted it to use with my MoBo and other peripherals

My EFI folder looks sometings like this:

if someone stumbles upon this post and needs help setting up a similar system with AMD Vega iGPU, feel free to comment and i'll try to help
