My software is going out of date. Can I update the OS beyond Big Sur with my setup?

I recently purchased an Radeon RX 6800 to upgrade to Big Sur, but about a year later I have a lot of software that is bothering me to upgrade the OS.

It is a monumental task every time to do it so I want to make sure it is feasible. My current setup is.

Aorus Z370 Gaming 5

3.7 GHz Intel i7-8700k

32GB Corsair Vengeance Ram

Radeon RX 6800 16 GB

What kind of OS update can I expect if any with this setup? I want to go new enough that my software won't stop working, but not so new that it slows my computer to a crawl.

Thoughts?
