Troubleshooting Common Issues After Installing MacOS on Hackintosh

Guide:

  1. Addressing Freezing Issues:

    • Check for conflicting kexts or drivers that may be causing the freezing. Review the kexts you have installed and try removing any unnecessary or conflicting ones.
    • Verify that your hardware components, such as CPU, GPU, and RAM, are compatible with MacOS. Incompatible hardware can cause stability issues.
    • Ensure that your BIOS settings are correctly configured for Hackintosh compatibility, including any necessary ACPI patches and settings related to CPU and power management.
  2. Adjusting Display Settings:

    • If your display settings do not detect your Dell monitor or show it as "unknown display," try the following:
      • Check the connection between your monitor and your Hackintosh. Ensure that the cable is securely connected and try using a different cable or port if available.
      • Look for specific display drivers or patches for your graphics card that may improve compatibility with your monitor.
      • Experiment with different display configurations and resolutions in the MacOS settings to see if any options work better with your monitor.
      • Consider installing additional display-related kexts or drivers that may improve compatibility with your monitor.
  3. Changing Refresh Rate:

    • If you're unable to change the refresh rate in display settings, it could be due to limitations with your graphics card or display configuration.
    • Check if your graphics card supports the desired refresh rate and if MacOS has native support for it.
    • Investigate third-party utilities or patches that may allow you to manually adjust the refresh rate in MacOS.
  4. Troubleshooting Mouse Freezing:

    • Mouse freezing issues could be related to incompatible or conflicting input drivers.
    • Try using a different mouse or trackpad to see if the issue persists.
    • Check if there are any known issues or compatibility issues with your specific mouse model and MacOS.
    • Ensure that you have the correct input drivers installed for your mouse and try reinstalling or updating them if necessary.
  5. Community Support and Resources:

    • Seek assistance from online forums, Hackintosh communities, or Reddit groups dedicated to Hackintoshing. Other users may have encountered similar issues and can provide helpful insights or solutions.
    • Consult Hackintosh troubleshooting guides and resources for additional troubleshooting steps and tips specific to your hardware configuration.

By following these steps and seeking assistance from the Hackintosh community, you can troubleshoot and resolve common issues after installing MacOS on your Hackintosh system.

multiple problems after installing macos

i’m not exactly sure what the problem is because i am new to hackintosh… but after i installed macos it ran fine and then the 2nd time i ran it, it kept freezing whenever i would move my mouse, i can’t change my hertz in display settings, the display settings doesnt detect my dell monitor, it just says “unknown display”. So right now i basically can’t use MacOS because it constantly freezes + I don’t like running on like 60 hertz. If anyone can help, please do 😭🙏
