I decided to go with Monterey, since I am reading that most things work for my 27" iMac 11,1 which is still a fully capable machine, except from just a bit older on hardware. Installed Monterey using OCLP 1.3.0 and indeed most things seem to be working fine.
I am having issues with Parallels, however. Running a v.11 installation, or installing any newer versions doesn't seem to work. I always get a crash on prl_client_app, which is the same one that launches for installation, too.
There is a similar issue on Parallels' own support forums, that one has to do with Metal (could be the same on my case), but on that one the crash happens while there VM is starting up, and there are a bunch of settings that can be adjusted. On my case, the application won't even start; it won't even install, in the first place!
Any hints?
