Has anyone else experienced this issue, and managed to fix it?
Selecting text causes a grey box (Word for Mac) - Microsoft Community
I suspect it has to do with some kind of incompatibility between the non metal GPU and newer versions of Microsoft Office. The reason I think this is that the Office 2021 software that I purchased insisted I needed to be on Monterey or higher. For reference I have a 2011 MBP that was running on Big Sur thanks to OCLP. I upgraded to Monterey in order to run the Office software. The laptop runs fine on the new OS but it has had issues with highlighting in Office programmes since the beginning. It's especially pronounced on Word but also affects Outlook. Does anyone have a solution to this problem, it's absolutely maddening!
