I have a Mid 2014 15" Macbook pro with an i7 CPU and an NVIDIA GT 750m GPU. I recently installed Sonoma via OCLP as a few programs I use (Fusion 360 etc) began phasing out older Mac OS versions. It updated fine and I had no issues other than running slightly slower than usual. However after a month or so, without warning, it died and kept booting into a black screen with a cursor and nothing else. TLDR, I managed to reset the Macbook and install Ventura, hoping that it would run slightly faster. The issue I'm now having is that I can't find a way to get it to detect the NVIDIA GPU, with everything listing the integrated Iris graphics as the default and only graphics available. I have installed the root patches, rebooted and reinstalled MacOS but can't figure out how to get it working - I know Kepler GPUs have dropped support and maybe issues working with Ventura (?) but ngl I don't completely understand the issue. I noticed the "No Graphics Acceleration" section under troubleshooting on the OCLP website but this just mentions ensuring the root patches are installed. Does anyone know how I can get this working?
