I've been banging my head at this and can't seem to find a solution. I have a dell inspiron 5000 series system with an i5-4210u/HD 4400 processor. Everything works fine except hdmi. on catalina, it detects a display when i plug it in but just outputs static. anything above that and hdmi port might as well not be there. the internal display works fine, but no matter what my hdmi port will not work. i tried connector patching and it didn't work, and i went through the bus-id patching documentation, and i know how to patch it now, i just dont have the slightest idea how to find out what values i'd need. has anyone else gotten any success with hdmi this GPU? I've tried like 4 different framebuffers and they all work for my internal screen, but no hdmi.
I tried one of those fl2000 usb hdmi things that ive used before on a real mac and that didn't work either. macos detects my display but either my monitor has no signal or the monitor just sits there doing nothing trying to parse the hdmi signal and never actually displays anything. i dont even get a black screen. kind of stumped here
