*As of spring 2024* - Still no TouchBar, TouchID or T1 support :/

I tried installing Sonoma onto a 2016 w/ Touch Bar the other day just do be completely and utterly disappointed by the fact that we still have no TouchBar, TouchID or T1 functionality. You can tell the T1 chip isn't working as when windows asking you to unlock certain features popup or even just trying to change your password makes the machine freeze or just doesn't work. The TouchBar well I feel like that should be obvious on how I figured out it wasn't working and the same thing with the TouchID sensor. Sad and slightly weird thing is that you can't even go into System Preferences to change your password, add new user accounts or even change lock screen features and add apps to different security sections. The security sections thing you can sort of bypass using a terminal program called "TccPlus" but baring in mind that no T1 chip means no camera so although you can grant say Zoom camera access the T1 chip not being read by the system is a bummer. The only thing I can say is a buddy of mine has another 2016 TouchBar but with a dead T1 chip (which is quite a common issue on these as the T1 is just a modified iPhone 6 CPU which are prone to dying) and OCLP Sonoma seemed to fix that as for some reason it not looking for a T1 chip seems to actually allow the system to work and boot sort of without just giving him a critical update error. Sad as I would really like to see Sonoma on a 2016 TouchBar working like it should but it's a pretty hard task to fix and they've been working on it for a decent while now. Thought I should raise it just incase anyone else is thinking about it hoping it'll work - Sad reality is it won't.
