Congratulations on successfully upgrading your Asus Z490-P with an i9 10850 to macOS Ventura 13.6.3. Your experience can serve as a valuable reference for others looking to upgrade their Hackintosh systems. Here's a condensed guide based on your successful process:
GUIDE STEP BY STEP:
1. EFI Preparation:
- Acquire the correct EFI version compatible with Ventura, in your case, EFI 0.9.7.
- Test the EFI by creating a bootable USB with the new EFI folder to ensure compatibility.
2. Serials and Identifiers Transfer:
- Transfer all serial numbers and system identifiers from the previous OpenCore (OC) config file to the new one to maintain continuity.
3. System Definition:
- Configure your Hackintosh to be recognized as an iMacPro1,1 (iMac Pro 2017) which is compatible with your hardware configuration.
4. Graphics Configuration:
- Ensure proper kexts and drivers are in place for your Sapphire Radeon 6600XT to work seamlessly with Ventura.
5. RAM Adjustment:
- Verify that all 32GB of RAM is correctly identified and functioning within the system.
6. Bluetooth and WiFi Compatibility:
- Address any initial Bluetooth issues that may arise during the first boot.
- Confirm the functionality of Fenvi T919 for WiFi and Bluetooth since Sonoma does not support it.
7. Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro Updates:
- Take advantage of the system performance improvements in Ventura.
- Update professional applications such as Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro (FCP) for creative work, which benefit from the new OS features.
8. Post-Installation Checks:
- After installation, perform a thorough check to ensure all components are working.
- Monitor system stability and Bluetooth functionality.
9. Experience Sharing:
- Share your successful upgrade experience, including any challenges and solutions, to assist others in the Hackintosh community.
10. Maintenance:
- Keep backup copies of both your previous Monterey EFI and the new Ventura EFI.
- Regularly check for updates or patches that might enhance system stability or performance.
Notes:
- Your guide outlines a high-level approach to upgrading a Hackintosh system to the latest macOS version while preserving system functionality.
- It's important to note that specific steps such as BIOS settings, kexts, and patching requirements may vary depending on individual hardware configurations and should be adjusted accordingly.
- Always keep a reliable backup before undertaking system upgrades to prevent data loss.
Successfully moved Asus Z490-P, i9 10850 to Ventura 13.6.3
I tried to upgrade my Monterey installation and finally found good EFI (0.9.7). I prepared installation USB first to check the EFI, and found it to be good. I did the installation straight from the install app (not USB), but of course, moved all previous serials to the new OC config file. My hackintosh is presented as iMacPro 2017 with Sapphire Radeon 6600XT graphics, 32GB of RAM.All is working now, on first boot, BT was a bit shaky, but now returned to normal.
1. On Ventura now. Generally the system feels a bit faster and the main advantage is that professional Apple apps are updated. I use Logic Pro and FCP for creative work.
2. My MBA M2 is already on Sonoma, so Ventura was familiar for me.
3. Sonoma is no go for because I use Fenvi T919 wifi and bt.
