CPU: i5-4200U Haswell-U
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4400
RAM: Kingston DDR3L 4GB
Motherboard/Laptop Make and Model: E1-572G
Audio Codec: Realtek ALC282, ALCID:28
Ethernet Card: BCM57786
Wifi/BT Card: Atheros AR9565, replaced with Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1030
Touchpad and touch display devices: Synaptics?
BIOS revision: InsydeH20 2.17

What's not working:

Ethernet - Untested, I modified the BCM5722D.kext and added Device ID of BCM57786, it will detect but I am not sure if it works.

Atheros AR9565 - It comes with the laptop, but not supported on Sonoma. Available kexts are only supported up to Big Sur with KBPS Speed.

Airdrop - If you want this, refer to https://dortania.github.io/Wireless-Buyers-Guide/types-of-wireless-card/mpcie.html, requires OCLP for macOS13+.

Bluetooth discoverability - It is not visible but it can detect. The original Wifi card only had one antenna and the replacement had two, I am not sure if that is the issue but make sure to buy the correct antenna for the second antenna connector.

ALCID: 28

Fix Wake from Sleep causes Restart: SSDT-GPRW.aml + rtc-blacklist with (at B2, for me atleast) - Requires RTCMemoryFixup.kext

Fix Shutdown: Update to the latest BIOS (at 2.17)

Sleep and Shutdown fixes took me 3 months to figure out, silly me.

Fix Audio: Fix (only) conflicted IRQs via SSDTime by CorpNewt.

Fix Backlight: Disable dGPU, and add PNLF via via SSDTime by CorpNewt.

To use iMessage and FaceTime: MacbookPro11.x and MacBookAir6.x won’t work (at least for Sonoma), I am using MacbookPro15,4.

To use USB Tethering using Android, add HoRNDIS.kext.

USB Ports at:

For XHC

HS01 USB 3 (Companion to SS01)

HS02 USB 2

HS03 USB 2

HS04 Internal - Used by WiFi Card

HS05 Internal - Used by Camera

SS01 USB 3 (Companion to HS01)

For EHC1

PRT1 Internal - Optional, it is apparently a HUB. I turned this off.

——— Other Issues ———

CFG Unlock: Not possible, I had to search “MSR Lock” instead of “CFG Lock”, here are the values I found:

VarStoreInfo (VarOffset/VarName): 0x1B1, VarStore: 0x1234

Disabled, Value : 0x0

Enabled, Value : 0x1 (default)

VarStoreId: 0x1234 Name: SystemConfig

If you want to attempt anyway, you will not find the “SystemConfig” when booting RU.efi. If you change the value of 01B1 from 01 to 00 under “Setup”, it will not unlock it.

If you are going to use an Intel WiFi, itlwm can detect farther Wifi Networks than AirportItlwm. Itlwm cannot detect hidden networks, you have to type the SSID, type of Security, and the Password.
