I managed to upgrade to Sonoma 14.2.1 today. Now the system is working fine.
My hardware is a Dell XPS desktop. Not sure the mother board model.
CPU: i5-11400 2.6G
GPU: AMD 6600XT
Opencore version: v 0.9.1
Other information is as the following:
Model Name: Mac Pro
Model Identifier: MacPro7,1
Processor Name: 6-Core Intel Core i5
Processor Speed: 2.6 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 6
L2 Cache (per Core): 512 KB
L3 Cache: 12 MB
Hyper-Threading Technology: Enabled
Memory: 16 GB
System Firmware Version: 1968.100.17.0.0
OS Loader Version: 580~1053
SMC Version (system): 1.74f4
There are two minor issues:
- I cannot upgrade from system setting->upgrade directly. Always have error and be asked to check internet connection while my internet connection is always good. Then finally I have to get the new OS from App Store. The installation was no issue.
- After login to the desktop I got warning: "Memory Modules Misconfigured. To improve performance, install memory in pairs and include at least four modules." I did installed memory in pairs. But only one pair. Do I need to add another pair? There was no such warning for Ventura.
Currently, only the above two issues found.
