Guide:
If you're experiencing issues with shared family passwords not synchronizing properly on your MacBook Pro with Touch Bar and the T1 security chip running Sonoma and OCLP, you can try the following steps to resolve the problem:
Check iCloud Settings:
- Ensure that your iCloud account is properly set up on your Mac. Go to "System Preferences" > "Apple ID" and verify that iCloud Drive and Keychain are enabled.
- Make sure that you are signed in with the correct iCloud account that contains the shared family passwords.
Update Sonoma and OCLP:
- Ensure that you are running the latest version of Sonoma and OCLP. Check for updates and apply any available patches or fixes.
Keychain Access:
- Open "Keychain Access" from the "Utilities" folder in "Applications."
- In the left sidebar, select "iCloud" and look for the "ICLOUD" keychain. Make sure it's unlocked.
- Check if the missing shared passwords are listed there. If they are, try resetting them by right-clicking and choosing "Delete" and then confirming the deletion.
- Afterward, re-add the shared passwords from another device and check if they sync properly to your MacBook Pro.
Check Keychain Sync:
- Go to "System Preferences" > "Apple ID" > "iCloud" and ensure that "Keychain" is selected for synchronization.
- Disable and re-enable keychain synchronization to force a refresh.
Network Connection:
- Ensure that your MacBook Pro has a stable internet connection. Unstable or slow connections may cause synchronization issues.
- Try connecting to a different network to see if the problem persists.
Reset iCloud Keychain:
- As a last resort, you can reset your iCloud Keychain. Keep in mind that this will remove all your saved passwords, so make sure to back up any important data.
- Go to "System Preferences" > "Apple ID" > "iCloud" > "Keychain" and click on "Options."
- Choose "Reset iCloud Keychain" and follow the on-screen instructions.
Contact Apple Support:
- If none of the above solutions work, consider reaching out to Apple Support for assistance. They may have specific insights into the interaction between Sonoma, OCLP, and the T1 security chip that could be causing the synchronization issue.
Remember to back up your important data and passwords before attempting any significant changes to your Keychain or iCloud settings.
I have a Macbook Pro with touch bar and the T1 security chip running Sonoma and the latest OCLP (1.3). Everything is working fine except that the shared family passwords are not synchronizing properly on this Mac.
- Regular individual icloud passwords work just fine and synchronize properly.
- The shared password group has about 900 shared passwords and only 50 of them appear and no new ones synchronize. It seems like some error happens when it is synchronizing and only ends up partially getting the shared passwords.
Does anybody have an idea how to fix it? The same shared passwords work fine on all other devices that don't use OCLP so I have a strong suspicion that it is related to the security chip or similar giving some errors.
