Hello, I’ll just start with listing my specs: i7-8700K Asrock k6 gaming motherboard z370 Intel uhd 630 (in use, hdmi plugged in mobo) Gtx1070 (plugged in, disabled with wegnoepu) 48GB DDR4 ram - Corsair vengeance Tp-link archer T9E Samsung evo 860 500gb ssd
I have other HDD and ssd plugged in internally via sata that I keep powered down.
I have successfully installed Monterey on the system, a few times (as I’ve experimented, botched and reinstalled). So far so good, can use it as a daily driver.
I cannot get sata hot plug to work. I have sata power switches that I can power on / off internal sata drives. Under my previous hackintosh high sierra with clover (this was back in 2018), this works well. Whenever I feel I need to use a disk, I turn it on, high sierra detects it and mounts it no problem. I also use openzfs in this manner as I have 6 disks in raidz2 that I don’t waste power on if I don’t need it in that session.
As mentioned, I looked up google and reddit, and couldn’t find any useful info. There were some posts regarding the same topic but we’re under Catalina and the user ended up buying a Mac mini, so never got an answer. I have tried a kernel patch before but that was dated 4-5years ago and also under Catalina. It botched my config and couldn’t boot, had to reinstall.
So tl;dr, can anyone point me in how to find info or setup sata hot plug for opencore and Monterey?
Thank you very much and apologies if this post was repeated in more recent time.
