Requirements:

  • Casper A15 laptop
  • OpenCore EFI configuration
  • Basic understanding of OpenCore and Hackintosh installation

Step 1: Verify EFI Configuration:

  1. Ensure that your OpenCore EFI configuration is set up correctly for your Casper A15 laptop.
  2. Confirm that essential kexts and drivers are included in the EFI folder.

Step 2: Check USB Configuration:

  1. Open your OpenCore configuration file (config.plist) using a plist editor.
  2. Navigate to the "Kernel > Add" section and check if the USBInjectAll.kext is included.
  3. Ensure that the USB port limit patch is applied if needed.

Step 3: Test with Minimal Configuration:

  1. Temporarily remove unnecessary kexts and drivers from your EFI folder.
  2. Boot with a minimal configuration to identify if any specific kext is causing the issue.

Step 4: Update Lilu and WhateverGreen:

  1. Ensure that you have the latest versions of Lilu and WhateverGreen kexts.
  2. Download the latest releases from their respective repositories and replace the existing kexts in your EFI folder.

Step 5: Apply USB Port Mapping:

  1. Consider applying USB port mapping for your laptop to ensure proper recognition of USB devices.
  2. Utilize tools like Hackintool to generate a USBPorts.kext and SSDT-USB.aml for your specific laptop model.

Step 6: Check Power Management Settings:

  1. Review your power management settings in the OpenCore configuration.
  2. Verify that USB power properties are appropriately configured.

Step 7: Use a Custom SSDT:

  1. If necessary, create a custom SSDT for your Casper A15 to address ACPI-related issues.
  2. Ensure that the SSDT is correctly placed in the ACPI folder within your EFI directory.

Step 8: Test with Another Bootloader:

  1. Consider testing your Casper A15 with another bootloader like Clover to see if the issue persists.
  2. This can help identify whether the problem is specific to OpenCore or a broader compatibility issue.
