Intel Bluetooth compatibility can be a common challenge in Hackintosh setups, especially with macOS Sonoma on a Dell Latitude E5570. The Intel Dual-Band 8260 card, which handles both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, often requires specific kexts and configurations to function properly. Here's a guide to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the Intel Bluetooth issue on your setup. This guide is intended for users with an intermediate level of technical expertise.

Guide to address Intel Bluetooth issues on a Dell Latitude E5570 running macOS Sonoma in a Hackintosh setup.
- Update Kexts: Ensure you have the latest versions of necessary kexts like IntelBluetoothFirmware and IntelBluetoothInjector. You can find these on GitHub or Hackintosh forums.
- Correct Kext Loading: Verify that these kexts are correctly loaded in your config.plist. Use tools like ProperTree to ensure they are properly configured and in the correct order.
- BIOS Settings: Check your laptop’s BIOS settings to ensure that Bluetooth is enabled and not conflicting with any other settings.
- Check System Information: In macOS, go to System Information to see if the Bluetooth hardware is detected at all.
- USB Mapping: Incorrect USB mapping can affect Bluetooth functionality. Revisit your USB port mapping to ensure all internal ports are correctly identified.
- Alternate Kexts or Drivers: Explore using alternate versions of Bluetooth kexts, or look for community patches that might address issues specific to the Intel 8260.
- Reset NVRAM: Sometimes, resetting NVRAM can resolve hardware detection issues.
- External Adapter as Last Resort: If all else fails, consider using a compatible USB Bluetooth dongle as a workaround.
Note: Intel wireless cards often pose challenges in Hackintosh setups due to limited driver support in macOS for Intel wireless hardware.
Smart people,
I cannot for the life of me get the Intel Bluetooth to work on my Hackintosh’d Dell Latitude E5570. Everything else seems to work just fine, even the Wi-Fi. It uses an Intel Dual-Band 8260 card that handles both BT and Wi-Fi. I’ve tried updating Kexts, Clean Snapshotting my config.plist, and numerous other ‘fixes’ to no avail.
Of course the easy fix would be to use a USB BT Dongle, but I would like to use the built-in BT if at all possible.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated 🙂
