Requirements:

  • Backup of important data
  • macOS installation USB or recovery partition

Step 2: Boot into macOS Recovery:

  1. Insert your macOS installation USB or restart your computer and hold down the Command (⌘) + R keys to boot into macOS Recovery.
  2. Alternatively, use Internet Recovery by holding down Command (⌘) + Option (⌥) + R during startup.

Step 3: Erase Ventura Partition:

  1. Open Disk Utility from the Utilities menu in macOS Recovery.
  2. Select your Ventura partition and choose "Erase."
  3. Format the partition using the macOS Extended (Journaled) file system.
  4. Close Disk Utility.

Step 4: Reinstall macOS:

  1. Choose "Reinstall macOS" from the macOS Utilities menu.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall the macOS version that was previously installed.

Step 5: Restore Data:

  1. Once the macOS reinstallation is complete, you can restore your data from the backup.
  2. Use the Migration Assistant or manually copy your files back to the system.

Step 6: Remove Legacy Patcher Files:

  1. Navigate to your EFI partition using a tool like Clover Configurator.
  2. Remove any drivers or kexts related to the Legacy Patcher or Ventura setup.
  3. Ensure your config.plist is set to a configuration suitable for your vanilla macOS.

Step 7: Verify System:

  1. Reboot your computer and verify that it boots into vanilla macOS without Ventura modifications.
  2. Check the system's stability and performance.

Step 8: Reconfigure NVIDIA Card (Optional): If you wish to use the NVIDIA card without the Legacy Patcher:

  1. Download and install the latest NVIDIA web drivers compatible with your macOS version.
  2. Configure your system using NVIDIA Optimus or similar technology if applicable.

Conclusion: By following these steps, you should successfully revert your system to a vanilla macOS setup. Make sure to address any specific issues you faced with Ventura before deciding to revert. Always have a backup before making significant changes to your system. Good luck with your macOS setup!
