Resolving "BEP: Invalid Revision 3" Error in iATKOS Hackintosh Builds
Skill Level: Intermediate
Encountering a "BEP: Invalid Revision 3" error during boot can be daunting. This guide will help you troubleshoot and resolve this issue in your iATKOS project.
- EFI Configuration Review: Start by examining your EFI folder. Ensure that your bootloader and its configuration file (config.plist) are tailored to your hardware.
- Correct Boot Arguments: Verify the boot arguments in your bootloader settings. Adjust them to accurately target the macOS boot partition.
- Update or Replace EFI: If using a pre-made EFI, update it with compatible kexts and drivers. Alternatively, build an EFI folder specific to your system.
- Adopt a Minimalist Setup: Minimize the number of kexts and drivers. Start with a basic setup and incrementally add components once stability is achieved.
- Community Engagement: Join Hackintosh forums or communities for advice specific to your error and hardware configuration.
- Regular Backups: Always backup your EFI and system state before making changes, to easily revert if needed.
Note: Hackintosh builds require patience and a willingness to experiment. If unsure, seek assistance from experienced builders.
Help with Error "BEP: Invalid Revision 3 (!+ 5) in loaded driver, Halting on Critical Error"
Hello, just finished my first Hackintosh build this past weekend. PC itself is all done but I've had a bunch of error in getting it to boot to the OS. I've attached the config file here in this thread. If anyone has a chance to take a look at it I'd greatly appreciate the help.
If it's of any use I used a premade EFI for the build. I suspect that may be causing some of the issues.
Thank you in advance
