This happened yesterday. I stupidly upgraded to Sonoma on my 2011 MacBook Pro, and now I get a black screen every time I try and log in when the loading bar appears.
I can’t access recovery mode, disc utility, or any other partition with key commands, because the firmware password Lock Screen comes up and I have no idea what that is.
When I boot in EFI from the boot picker screen, it just restarts and nothing happens. I’ve reset the SMC, VRAM, PRAM and tried every single combination of commands and still can’t login without the screen going black.
I just want to downgrade back to a version that works, can anyone help me figure out how? I don’t have an external drive, or a usb drive and this is my only computer.
