Troubleshooting: No Signal during BIOS and Boot Phase

Issue:

When switching from CSM to UEFI mode in BIOS settings for installing iATKOS Project, some users may encounter a 'no signal' issue. This can manifest as a lack of motherboard logo, BIOS access, or boot menu display, although the system might boot into an existing OS like Windows.

Potential Solutions:

  1. Switch HDMI Connection:

    • Initially, try connecting your HDMI cable directly to the motherboard's HDMI port instead of the GPU. This can sometimes resolve the issue by redirecting the display output through the motherboard's integrated graphics.
  2. Reset BIOS Settings:

    • If the first method doesn’t work, a BIOS reset might be necessary. Since the BIOS is not accessible due to the no signal issue, you'll need to reset it manually.
    • Procedure:
      • Power off your PC and unplug it from the power source.
      • Open the PC case and locate the CMOS battery on the motherboard. It’s typically near the GPU slot.
      • Carefully remove the CMOS battery. You might need to move the GPU to access it.
      • Wait for about 5-10 minutes. This duration allows the motherboard to clear and reset the BIOS settings to their default state.
      • Reinsert the CMOS battery and reassemble any components you moved or removed.
      • Plug in and power on your PC. The BIOS should now be reset to its default settings, which typically includes enabling CSM.

Notes:

  • Safety Precautions: Always ensure you're grounded when handling internal PC components to avoid static damage. Use an anti-static wristband or touch a grounded metal object frequently.
  • CMOS Battery Caution: Handle the CMOS battery carefully to avoid damage. If unsure, refer to your motherboard's manual or seek professional assistance.
  • Post-Reset: After resetting the BIOS, you'll need to reconfigure any custom settings you had before, such as boot order or overclocking profiles.

Reminder:

  • If these steps don’t resolve your issue, or if you're uncomfortable performing them, consider seeking help from a professional technician.

While trying to install hackintosh on my machine, I’ve had a problem that gave me a hard time and I assume that some of you may experience that as well. When I turn off CSM and switch to UEFI, when I restart my computer there is no motherboard logo, no bios, no boot menu, luckily it booted into windows after no signal mark. You can try to fix it by plugging hdmi straight into motherboard instead of gpu, but if that doesn’t help, you can try restarting bios settings. Since you cannot access bios, the way to go is to remove cmos battery from underneath your gpu and wait 5-10 minutes until the settings go back to default. I know some of you will experience this and will not know what to do, so i thought this might be helpful.
