Hello,
I believe that I updated OCLP correctly, and then let my Mac 3,1 install the newest Sonoma patch last night. It seemed to have gone really smoothly, and I am presented with the new login screen, but I cannot actually log in to the system. It presents the log in screen, and I enter my password; it does some stuff as if it is logging me in, then simply goes back to the login screen.
I had thought it may be because I moved my user accounts to a separate drive, and maybe it couldn't find them, but I had left a rescue account on the System drive for just such an issue, but it won't log that one in either.
It's not the passwords, as I am sure I know them, and it is not giving me an error about incorrect password, but I am not sure where to start.
The machine will boot into Recovery mode, but won't let me use my Time Machine backups, stating that I have to use migration assistant, and I don't want it wiping my drive before I can back stuff up.
I am also able to get in to safe mode (auto login), but am not sure what to do to fix the issue once I am in the system. When I am in safe mode, the system is a bit slow, but works just fine.
I made sure that autologin was set in settings before restarting the machine from safe mode, but that didn't seem to make a difference.
I am not sure as to how to proceed. I am happy to go back to the system before the upgrade if someone knows how to use my backups to do so, but I'd really like to get the system going with the newest update if possible.
OCLP detected that I was upgrading before it actually restarted and did a bunch of stuff before the upgrade. Also, the system worked once and I was able to re-run OCLP before I rebooted and the login screen appeared.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance :)
