Mac Mini Late 2012 6,2 OCLP v0.6.8
Monterey 12.7
Problem with using 1440p 2K monitor:
I installed OCLP last year and it runs great, I used an old 1080p monitor. Yesterday I got a new 1440p 2k monitor but when I try to use greater than 1080p in Display Preferences the screen blanks out and then screen says no signal detected. This happens if it try the following cables:
Mac Mini Thunderbolt 2 port (mini displayport) to Displayport on Monitor
To get back to 1080p screen I have to do reset of SMC.
Then I plug in:
Mac Mini Thunderbolt 2 port (mini displayport the HDMI adapter) to HDMI on Monitor
I get 1080p again.
I can then plug in Mac Mini Thunderbolt 2 port (mini displayport) to Displayport on Monitor and get 1080p
But i cannot change resolution above 1080p or black screen and no signal detected by monitor and i have to do SMC reset again.
Anybody have any experience with this?
I have not tried TB2 to TB2 official apple cable because expensive to buy for testing possible fail
I have not tried Active mini DP to HDMI cable yet because again expensive.
I read that 2012 mac mini is capable of 2k using DP/TB2 so I wonder if it is a OCLP issue? Did OCLP patcher install kext for 1080p only, and now that i have added 2k monitor OCLP does not understand what to do?
HDMI to HDMI standard cable is 1080p and does not go above 1080p
