After seeing reports that the OTA Sonoma update worked for people, I decided to chance it. It was successful, but glitchy in weird ways. I had to disable graphics switching, otherwise I'd regularly experience major rendering issues with integrated graphics. The other regular issue is that apps - including Finder - would start crashing and require a reboot to launch successfully.
I decided to do a proper install using a USB installer, this time 14.1.1. So far I haven't experienced the app crashing, but now I'm getting regular kernel panics, possibly related to sleep because it seems to happen when I come back.
Has anyone experienced similar symptoms? Ventura was solid for me but I'd prefer not to go back especially because I don't think it'd accept my latest time-machine backups.
