Using OCLP 1.2.0, I took the more tried and tested path of Ventura upgrade. I ran the Ventura installation over existing Catalina, all apps and data retained. No restore from TimeMachine. Initial boot up post upgrade patch, signing in it took about 5~10 mins for system to stabiilize. Email rebuild gone well. 1.5TB Photos index regenerated in under 15 mins. Just one slight hiccup. The OCLP app supposed to move automatically into /Library/App support/Dortana folder ended up with 0kb to the file size. It's corrupted. I had to use another computer to download and transfer it over using a thumbdrive. Downloading it using the just-upgraded iMac somehow was crawling at 65kb/sec using Safari or Firefox. Hence the use of another Mac to download and transfer over. Time Machine restarted and did it's first Ventura back up, completed in about 2 hours. Thanks for all the help here. Will observe the iMac for a while before moving to Sonoma. [link] [comments] |
