I upgraded a 2012 13-in mbp from Ventura 13.5.1 to 13.5.2 (the security update) directly From the App Store and of course it bricked my install. I am looking for the best way to recover.
Help?
I still have the usb key that I used to install 13.5.1 if that helps with my options.
But generally speaking, since Apple has only ever only had a handful of computer configurations over the years (well let’s call that about 20-30 configs) I wonder if it would be a really tough thing for oclp to pre-build EFIs for those apple models.
For this ventura I had to install 10.7, then somehow move up to Catalina, then I was able to install Ventura using OCLP.
The OCLP instal install process was really painless from a Max that I was already upgrading, but I still had to go through the various steps of building the config and oclp, downloading Ventura, doing the post-install process, etc.
Why does oclp make you do this? Instead of having to run from a max and do all that auto detection, I wonder why the scripts simply don’t ask which Mac model to configure for. That way tou could generate the usb key from another mac, this mac, or even another computer.
Anyways as per up topic, what is the proper way to recover my hackintosh?
And moving forward, if I ever need to upgrade, is there a particular method I should use?
