Hi, I'm experiencing issues booting the macOS installer USB on my laptop. The specs are listed below. In all cases, it does not get very far into the boot process before kernel panicking. The output always to either "invalid frame pointer" or "backtrace [...] panicked thread [...] frame: return address" Tested on both Monterey (12) and Ventura (13), and same results with both versions. The troubleshooting here suggests tweaking on/off various options including DevirtualiseMmio, EnableWriteUnprotector, RebuildAppleMemoryMap, SyncRuntimePermissions, and SetupVirtualMap. From them, I have tested around 15 different combinations of those options being enabled or disabled, and none of them work, although they can slightly change the output as shown in the images below. If any potential solution / further troubleshooting step is provided, I will be sure to test it with all the different combination of the aforementioned options. My USB ports were mapped from Windows using the USBToolKit, and XhciPortLimit is disabled. System info is as follows: Device: ASUS ZenBook Flip 13 UX363JA CPU: Intel Core i5-1035G4 GPU: Intel Iris Plus Graphics G4 SMBIOS Used: MacBookAir9,1 Any potential help/advice would be appreciated. If more information is needed, I will try to provide it. Thanks. IMAGES: [link] [comments] |
