[HELP] Hardware choices and supported MacOS

So, I´m reading a lot of stuff from over 4 years ago and mayyyybe there's the chance that this works differently now.
My specs are;

MOTHERBOARD: ASUS A68HM-PLUS
CPU: AMD A8-7680 (Carrizo)
RAM: 8GB DDR3
STORAGE: 250GB HDD
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GT 730 4GB DDR3 (Fermi, GF108 edition)

By looking over it my best chance is High Sierra, but I feel like that version is outdated af. My main use is just learn how to do it and maybe use spotify and safari.
Is there a patch for newer version of MacOS and my hardware or I'm just better running High Sierra?
