I have an early 2011 MacBook 8,2 running Sierra. It had the dreaded GPU issue years ago and I had the R8911 resistor removed along with a SW update. It has been running great since.
It runs well for what I need it for which is basically light web browsing and an occasional email.
I was trying to backup my iPhone but apparently my iOS is out of date.
I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade the iOS to say Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-catalina-on-supported-pc.html'>Catalina?
I wasn’t sure if the resistor removal would cause an issue during a OS install.
Any help would be appreciated!
