Here are some steps you can follow to install Catalina on your HP Z420 and ensure proper functionality of sleep-mode, USB3, and audio:
ReplyDelete1. Obtain a compatible version of iATKOS or a similar macOS distribution for Hackintosh.
2. Create a bootable USB installer using the macOS image you obtained. You can use tools like Unibeast or create the USB manually using Terminal.
3. Configure your BIOS settings: Make sure your BIOS is set to UEFI mode, disable Secure Boot, and enable AHCI mode for your SATA controller.
4. Install macOS: Boot from the USB installer and follow the prompts to install macOS Catalina on your HP Z420. Make sure to select the appropriate drive for the installation.
5. Post-installation steps: Once the installation is complete, you'll need to perform some post-installation steps to ensure proper functionality.
- USB3: You may need to install additional USB kexts or patches to enable USB3 functionality. Check the iATKOS documentation or community forums for specific instructions related to your motherboard and USB chipset.
- Sleep-mode: Sleep-mode can sometimes be problematic on Hackintosh systems. You can try using power management patches or custom SSDT files to enable proper sleep functionality. Again, check the iATKOS documentation or community forums for guidance.
- Audio: To enable audio, you'll need to find and install the appropriate kext for your audio chipset. Tools like MultiBeast or KextBeast can help simplify the installation process.
