EFI package I'm using for this laptop is premade from someone else, same specs to a T Big sur works perfectly.
I figured I'd use Opencore updater to update the EFI for Ventura but it won't even boot into bigsur anymore post update.
Tried to leave update EFI on while reinstalling bigsur with the USBs EFI then installing Ventura through the app store hoping it would boot. But once the its reboots it's stuck going back to open core everytime this leading me to the Mac recovery program. What should I poke around for in my EFI to make it work with the latest version of open core?
I got the EFI from here, worked flawlessly out of the box for bigsur. https://github.com/danang-id/ASUS-TP412FA-ESP

It seems that you are facing issues with updating the EFI for your Hackintosh system to work with macOS Ventura. Here are a few suggestions to help you resolve the problem:
ReplyDelete1. Ensure EFI Compatibility: Check if the EFI package you are using is compatible with macOS Ventura. Sometimes, newer macOS versions require specific updates or modifications to the EFI. You can look for updated versions or patches specifically designed for Ventura.
2. Verify BIOS Settings: Make sure that your BIOS settings are properly configured for Hackintosh compatibility. Check if there are any specific settings recommended for macOS Ventura and ensure they are correctly set.
3. Check Bootloader Configuration: Review your bootloader configuration, whether it's Clover or OpenCore, and ensure that it is up to date with the necessary settings for macOS Ventura. Verify that all kexts, drivers, and ACPI patches are compatible with Ventura.
4. Update Kexts and Drivers: Make sure that all the necessary kexts (kernel extensions) and drivers are updated to their latest versions. Sometimes, compatibility issues arise due to outdated or incompatible kexts and drivers.
5. Seek Community Support: Reach out to Hackintosh communities or forums for assistance. Other users with similar hardware and experiences might have found solutions or workarounds specific to your situation.
Remember that updating to a newer macOS version on a Hackintosh system can sometimes require extra troubleshooting and adjustments. It's essential to backup your data and have a plan in case something goes wrong during the update process.
