Hi everyone,
So I created a monstrosity and used an Alienware EFI to install Big Sur on a Lenovo P17. When I boot from the USB, it boots into Big Sur. If the USB is not present, it will automatically boot into windows with no menu. If I delete Boot64 efi from windows and remove the USB, it will show the OpenCore Picker with only MacOS (which makes sense because the Windows bootloader is gone). However, I can't get the the OpenCore picker to boot with the Windows bootloader present. I had copied the boot64 from the OpenCore zip but it made no difference. I was trying to see if I could use clover or easy uefi, but that feels like adding extra with a chance of ruining everything. Based on what I saw, picker is set to true in the config file and I have reset the nvram several times. I also renamed the windows bootloader efi like the tutorial I used said, but it did not make a difference.
Steps:
-
Had Windows installed first
-
Used Big Sur USB install with Alienware OpenCore EFI from Tony Mac to install Big Sur on the same SSD
-
Big Sur boots proper when booting from USB and selecting MacOS hard drive partition
-
Cannot get to OpenCore picker without USB unless I delete Boot64 efi. Obviously only shows MacOS and not Windows
My desire: To have a working OpenCore picker that shows 1. Windows 2. MacOS at boot with no USB attached
