About Mac with Intel Power Gadget report Specifications: Intel Core i5-8265U Intel UHD Graphics 620 8 GB LPDDR3 RAM WDC SN520 256 GB NVMe SSD - 2 partitions (Monterey and Ventura) Running macOS Version 13.0 Beta (22A5266r) using OC 0.8.2 DEBUG What works: -WiFi and Bluetooth (tried the alpha version of Airportitlwm, but iSwitched back to itlwm because ventura airportitlwm doesn't work on Monterey, which wouldn't even boot) -Proper CPU Power Management (low power mode works well for idle) -Sound -Trackpad and Keyboard backlight -GPU Acceleration -Sleep -Stage manager (animation is a bit laggy, but hey, it works!) -HDMI What doesn't work: -Airdrop -Webcam (has never worked anyway) -SD Card (didn't bother fixing it) Untested: -Sidecar Overall, everything that works with Monterey works here too Performance and battery is \slightly* worse compared to 12.0, but for a beta ( and the first one at that), I'm amazed by how well it works!* How I got it to work along with hurdles I had gone through: -> AvoidRuntimeDefrag --> False ; However, I had to set it back to true after the first phase of the installation, otherwise Firmware couldn't be updated error would pop up -> additional Boot-args --> -lilubetaall -lilubeta -alcbeta -wegbeta -vsmcbeta -v --> Apparently, you don't have to download the latest kexts when you have the beta args, but I still did it anyway just to be sure either works Hurdle --> IOPLATFORMRESTARTHALTACTION -> AppleSMC and reboot Solution: Honestly, I didn't know what fixed it cuz I did a bunch of things all at once instead of applying a "fix" one at a time such as: -Advisefeatures --> True -NVRAM reset every installer boot -Injecting only "essential kexts" for installation, i.e., lilu, weg, alc, hibernationfixup, cputscsync, vsmc and its tools. kb backlight patch, cpufriend, and alc294 patch were added later after the installation -testing different framebuffers -> First attempt was through OTA but I couldn't get it to work so I did a fresh install instead [link] [comments] |
