OC (7.9) menu won't show install partition after first install reboot

Attempting to install Catalina with OC 7.9 (debug) on a newly formatted (APFS) SSD on an older, recently resurrected GA-Z77X-UD3H / i7.

I can boot OC to picker menu OK. Selection of "Install macOS Catalina (external)" booted into macOS Recovery no problem. In Recovery I used Disk Utility to APFS format the target system SSD, then got through the first phase of Catalina installation OK.
