Very poor CPU-performance due to Catalina?

Hi!

I need help with a rather old system.
I experience very bad cpu performance since upgrading to Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-catalina-on-supported-pc.html'>Catalina.
I'm a music producer working in Ableton Live and Logic Pro.
I suddenly have a lot of crackles and dropouts although when monitoring Intel Power Gadget the Cpu barely runs over 1ghz.
Also got a very poor Geekbench score compared to when i was running Sierra.
