I have a dual install Windows / Hackintosh that I successfully built last April, running Catalina, via Clover install and some various tweaks that I'm sorry, I don't remember at this moment. Mac installed on the M.2 drive. I never updated my OS after I got it running as this is my first build, it worked like a dream, and I was too nervous. Yesterday when I went to turn it on, it made some clicking noises, and only the fans would run. It's possible the clicking noises were from something hitting one of the fans, as I had just moved it, and they only happened the first time I tried to turn it on, without success. Removing the M.2, it successfully booted into Windows. The M.2 drive is readable on my MacBook, so maybe a BIOS error. Tried repeatedly to enter the BIOS menu with no luck. Tried to update the BIOS, now it won't even boot into Windows. Just the fans run. Tried to reset the CMOS. Still no luck. Possibly the motherboard is bricked, not completely ready to give up on it yet, but if that is the case, trying to decide if I should replace it with the same motherboard, since I did have a successful set-up, or if anyone has any suggestions on other motherboards that would work with my other components. I have listed the main components below, if it helps to have the full list, I can update if needed. Sorry about the typo in the title. (*^_^*)
- Gigabyte Z390 UD
- Intel Core i5 9600K
- 8GB Sapphire Radeon RX 580 Pulse
- 480GB Corsair Force Series M.2
- 16GB (2x 8192MB) Corsair Vengeance LPX
