CodecCommander Ethernet Card: You are connected to the internet Connected through Killer E2500 Gigabit Ethernet Controller What guide used: Clover install guide tonyx86 forums https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/ Where I ran into issues: Basically I have never been able to get the MACOS installer to boot other than one time. I have tried high sierra, catalina, big sur, monterey.... Catalina is the ONLY installer that actually booted but when it did it got to the select a language screen, I'd pick the language, and then it would freeze up and never move on in the install process. I have used pre-built folders for clover for the Alienware 17 R4, matching the 7820HQ, I have performed SSDT/DSDT patch for what the guide said to do (such as disable nvidia card, DSDT.aml, SSDT-EC.aml, SSDT-GPU-DISABLE.aml, SSDT-HPET.aml, SSDT-PLUG.aml, ssdt-pmc.aml, AND SSDT-USBX.aml". I have used older and latest kexts to test that. I've used minimal kexts and drivers.... I have updated those. I can't figure out what I'm missing to get this working. Also, I have used CLOVER and OPENCORE as well! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also all patches listed were manually built by me with SSDTTime-master.... I did not reuse any from another machine... What files/config am I using: CLOVER currently, latest version, drivers = apfsdriverloader.efi, hsfplus.efi, virtualsmc.efi, nvmexpressdxe.efi, OcQuirks.efi, OpenRuntime.efi, partitionDxe.efi, Ps2MouseDxe.efi, UsbKbDxe.efi (but i've also tried limiting this minimal to only a few). Kext I am using the following: BIOS: I have used nothing under this folder and I have also used currently what I have ApfsDriverLoader.efi, AudioDxe.efi, FSInject.efi, HFSPlus.efi, NTFS.efi, VirtualSmc.efi, and XhciDxe.efi I'd like to run Big Sur at least, and I've seen it's possible, because Tonyx86 has files and guide on the person getting this exact machine to run it.... I just can't figure out what part I'm missing or doing wrong. [link] [comments] |
