Catalina always boots with "SecurityAgent wants to make changes" dialog, four times

Hi everyone, I recently upgraded from Mojave to Catalina (i'm an audio guy, and things are never quite stable on the newest OS). On Mojave, everything was stable & solid.

On Catalina, it's working, but after bootup I get a popup, four times, saying "SecurityAgent wants to make changes," and asking for an admin name & password. I've tried entering the credentials, four times, and then it stops asking & everything works normally. I've also cancelled four times, and it stops asking & everything *still* works normally. But on next boot, i get the same thing.

This happens even on a brand-new clean install of Catalina (just tried), so it isn't about anything I've installed. It's not the end of the world, but it is annoying and I wonder if there's some underlying problem which will rear up and bite me at some point.

Has anyone seen this issue?

  • 2 nvme drives + 1 sata ssd

thanks!
