Anyway to flash thunderbolt firmware onto a laptop thunderbolt controller?

Title.

I have a Titan Ridge Thunderbolt controller in my laptop and am not opposed to horribly mutilating it so I can achieve hotplug. Currently my docking station works if I do a cold boot but if I hot-unplug I kernel panic.

Googling unfortunately spams me with the Gigabyte card with the TB controller and that is simply not usable in this case. I don't care about the windows ramifications.
