So I have a 1 year old Hackintosh still running Catalina 10.15.2 Beta 2 using Clover ( yes Beta, it was working fine and installed so many things didn't want to reinstall again 😅 lol, so I just stuck with it ).
Recently I experienced some random shutdowns after not using Mac Os for 2 months ( I was on Windows 10 dual boot during those months ).
I also want to move away from Clover to OpenCore since I heard so many good things about it and how close to native it is. So now is a good time for me to switch.
Question 1 : How I go about doing that ? I would still prefer to keep my Clover install ( partition ) intact, until I can know for sure that Opencore install is stable to switch to. If Clover install must go, it's fine for me as well.
Question 2 : Which Mac Os version is the most stable and with great performance as of now using OpenCore? I saw Big Sur dropped support for some hardware etc, so I'm honestly confused.
I actually built my PC from scratch around Hackintoshing to have the most compatible hardware. I also made one of the first guides about Catalina 10.15.2 Beta success ( check my profile). But now it's the other way around, I need help and guidance from this amazing community.
My Build :
- Mobo: Gigabyte Z390 Designare
- CPU: Core i9 9900k
- GPU: Red Devil RX 5700 XT 8G GDDR6
- RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB x2 = 32GB
- SSD: Samsung 970 EVO PLUS 1TB M2 x2 [ one for Windows / one for Mac OS ]
- PSU:Cooler Master V750
- Monitor: MSI MAG322QVR 1440p 144hz curved
- Speakers: Logitech G560 lightsync gaming speakers
- Others: Corsair Essential Gaming Bundle [ keyboard/Mouse/Headset]
Thanks a lot for your insights 😎✌🏻 PS: I use Mac OS to edit videos for my YouTube channel using FCPX.
