Hi there everyone! I'm running macOS Big Sur 11.2.3 on my PC. Everything works so far except sleep and OpenCanopy GUI. I really need help fixing these.
• Sleep: My hackintosh goes to sleep whenever I want it to. The display turns off and the lights on my PC case go out, the fans turn off. Just how it's supposed to be. When I move my mouse or press a key on the keyboard, the lights come on and fans start spinning, but no display. I know the display isn't a problem because I turned it on and off again, unplugged and replugged the HDMI cable, nothing works. There's simply no output from the graphics card.
I know that there's a section in Dortania's guide dedicated to fixing sleep. But before I try those things, I think the problem might be in the BIOS settings. Here's why I think so: Before installing macOS I was running Windows 10 21H1 and before that I tried out the Windows 11 preview build. In all cases, I faced the exact same problem. Seemingly my PC does wake up from sleep but there's no display. Oh and I also tried High Sierra before switching to Big Sur. Same problem.
So the problem remains the same across multiple OSes. That made me think if there's something wrong in the BIOS settings. If you ever faced a similar issue, please let me know. It would really help me, because sleep is a feature that I actually need.
• OpenCanopy GUI: Followed Dortania's guide to the point. Tried both picker attributes 1 and 17. The folders inside the resources folder isn't empty. Added the OpenCanopy.efi to the drivers folder and also inside config.plist.
Nothing. Works.
I'm always greeted with the text based OpenCore picker. I even tried the minimalist icons, doesn't work either. I'm on OpenCore 0.7.2.
My specs: Gigabyte H81M-S2PV (rev. 3.0) | Intel Core i5-4570 | 8GB 1600 Mhz DDR3 RAM | Nvidia GeForce GT 730 2GB GDDR5 | Samsung 870 EVO SSD | Samsung T35F 22" Monitor
Please let me know if you have a potential solution to these problems. It would help me a lot. Thank you.
