Question Regarding Dual Booting macOS and Ubuntu

Hello everyone! So I have successfully installed macOS Big Sur 11.2.3 on my PC and everything works so far except sleep (Hackintosh wakes but monitor doesn't) and OpenCanopy GUI. macOS runs and feels great but I'd like to play around with linux, Ubuntu to be specific. So I'm planning to dual boot Ubuntu alongside macOS Big Sur from the same SSD. I've read Dortania's guide about multibooting and I have a few questions.

  1. Windows messes up macOS's EFI when booting from the same drive. Can Ubuntu do the same?
  2. Do I have to do anything to prepare my hack for dual booting other than partitioning the SSD with Disk Utility?
  3. Does the OpenCore boot entry need to added using this guide? https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Multiboot/oc/linux.html#method-a-chainloading-a-efi-bootloader-grub2-systemd-boot This is the part I'm the most confused about. Do I install Ubuntu THEN go about following this guide? How will I be able to boot into Ubuntu?

My specs: Gigabyte H81M-S2PV (rev. 3.0) Intel Core i5-4570 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Nvidia GeForce GT 730 2GB GDDR5 Samsung 870 EVO 250GB

Answers to these questions would help me greatly. Thank you.
