I have noticed that light tasks like browsing Twitter or Facebook can raise my laptop's SSD's temperature by up to 52 C, whereas doing the same thing on Windows does not really deviate by much from the idle temps of 41-43 C. Only up to 45 C at worst. Though, for some reason, Reddit and YouTube don't really have the same effect, unless on YT if I do tasks other than watching a video like browsing the comment section. I wonder what could be causing it since it does take a toll on the battery life. From 1% decrease every 4-5mins it slumps down to every 3-2 mins. I use NVMeFix.kext for NVMe PM.
I am using both CPUFriend and VoltageShift to regulate and lower the processing power of my laptop. And while it does improve the battery life, it has slightly worsened the performance of my CPU. One thing I've noticed with CPUFriend is that it only dips the CPU freq down to 800MHz during idle, and the moment I move the cursor it shoots up to 0.96-1.4GHz. Unlike on Windows, where it stays at 800MHz and even goes down to 700MHz unless I started doing something more demanding (moderate usage). I also wonder if that's a normal thing?
