Hello everybody, Looking for some tips on how to resolve my macOS installer freezing. It's pretty inconsistent on when it freezes. It could freeze at the "10 minutes remaining" mark or the "6 minute remaining" mark and so on. When it freezes I can't do anything like move the mouse or any keyboard input it completely locks up. I've already tried rebooting a few times and retrying multiple times. These are my hardware specs: Model: Dell XPS 15 7590 CPU: i7-9750H GPU: Intel UHD 630 RAM: 16 GB DDR4 Mouse: Ps/2 Synaptics Touchpad SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500 GB NVME Audio Codec: ALC3266 Audio Codec The guide I followed is Dortania's Open Core guide for version 0.7.1 - Coffee Lake Plus - Laptops Kexts installed: For troubleshooting I followed the Userspace issues guide and tried these two things: 1. Frozen in the macOS installer after 30 secondsThis is likely due to faulty or outright missing NullCPUPowerManagement, the one hosted on AMD OSX's Vanilla Guide is corrupted. Go yell at Shannee to fix it. To fix the issue, remove NullCPUPowerManagement from Kernel -> Addand EFI/OC/Kextsthen enable DummyPowerManagementunder Kernel -> Emulate 2. macOS frozen right before loginThis is a common example of screwed up TSC, for most system add CpuTscSync Any help greatly appreciated. Let me know if I need to provide anything further. [link] [comments] |
