Mac OS installer boots to recovery menu. What am I doing wrong?

Hi! Yesterday I tried to install Mac OS Big Sur onto a laptop. I followed the OpenCore install guide and booted the macOS recovery menu from the usb. Formatted the hard drive and started to install Mac OS. When it was done it restarted and then I chose macOS installer in the boot menu. It went on for a while but then I was greeted with the recovery menu again. I have tried multiple times with no luck. Video of the boot up here

Solved it by formatting the hard drive as APFS instead of macOS extended...
